Plain-language definitions for every term used in on-chain holder monitoring, wallet risk analysis, and crypto sell pressure detection. Updated as the field evolves.
C
CEX Deposit Address
A blockchain address controlled by a centralized exchange (CEX) that is used to receive deposits from users. Each user on a CEX typically receives a unique deposit address, but patterns in these addresses make many identifiable. HolderOS maintains a continuously updated database of confirmed and likely CEX deposit addresses.

Dormant Wallet
A wallet that has had no outbound transactions for an extended period, typically defined as 30 days or more. Dormant wallets that suddenly become active (a "dormancy break") are historically one of the strongest pre-sell signals. The reactivation often indicates a deliberate decision by the holder to begin distributing their position.
DEX Sell
A token sale executed directly on a decentralized exchange (DEX) such as Uniswap, Raydium, or PancakeSwap, without going through a centralized exchange. Unlike CEX sells (which require a deposit step), DEX sells are atomic — the swap and sale happen in a single transaction. HolderOS detects DEX sells and classifies them as confirmed sell events.

Exchange Deposit
A transfer of tokens from a holder wallet to a centralized exchange deposit address. CEX deposits are among the highest-confidence pre-sell signals on-chain: depositing tokens to a CEX is a prerequisite for selling on that exchange's order book. The time between deposit and actual sale varies, but the intent to sell is strongly implied.
Entity Clustering
The identification of multiple blockchain wallets that are controlled by the same entity. Entity clustering is important for understanding true concentration: a project may appear to have 500 independent holders when in reality 50 wallets belong to a single investor. HolderOS identifies clusters through shared funding sources, correlated activity patterns, and explicit holder tagging.

Gas Readiness
Whether a wallet holds sufficient native token (SOL, ETH, BNB, MATIC, etc.) to pay for on-chain transactions. A wallet without native gas cannot transact on-chain regardless of its token balance, making gas readiness a key prerequisite signal. A wallet that was gas-depleted and has recently received a gas top-up has become capable of selling.

Holder Risk Score
A numerical score from 0 to 100 assigned to each token holder based on multiple on-chain behavioral signals. Scores above 70 indicate High or Critical risk. The score is calculated from exchange proximity, gas readiness, wallet age, DEX interaction history, dormancy status, and position concentration. Scores are updated with every sync.
Holder Concentration
The proportion of a token's total supply held by a small number of wallets. High concentration (e.g., top 10 wallets holding >50% of supply) creates significant price impact risk: a single large holder selling can materially move the market. Concentration analysis also helps identify hidden clustering where multiple addresses belong to one entity.

Multi-Hop Transfer
A token transfer that moves through one or more intermediary wallets before reaching its final destination. Multi-hop routes are common when holders attempt to obscure their identity or the destination of funds. HolderOS traces up to three hops to detect indirect exchange routes that appear unrelated at a first glance.

On-Chain Analytics
Analysis of data recorded directly on a blockchain ledger. On-chain analytics for token projects typically encompasses transfer history, wallet balance changes, DEX interactions, smart contract calls, and exchange deposits — all verifiable directly from blockchain data without relying on centralized data sources.

Sell Pressure
The aggregate probability and expected volume of token sales from current holders within a given time window. Sell pressure is a forward-looking metric derived from on-chain signals rather than historical trading data. High sell pressure means multiple holders are behaviorally positioned to sell — even if no sell has yet occurred.
T
Token Distribution
The process by which a token project allocates its initial supply to various stakeholders — investors, team, advisors, community, treasury, market makers, and public sale participants. Distribution events (TGEs, cliff releases, airdrops) are high-risk periods for sell pressure because multiple holders become liquid simultaneously.
Token Holder Monitoring
Continuous automated surveillance of a token project's holder wallets for behavioral changes that may indicate intent to sell. Token holder monitoring combines on-chain data fetching, signal analysis, risk scoring, alerting, and reporting into a single workflow — replacing manual wallet review and spreadsheet-based tracking.
V
Vesting Cliff
A point in time at which a portion of a holder's locked token allocation becomes liquid all at once. Vesting cliffs are high-risk events for token projects: a large investor or team member whose tokens become liquid may sell immediately. Monitoring holder behavior in the weeks before and after cliff dates is a core use case for HolderOS.
W
Wallet Intelligence
Enriched information about a blockchain wallet beyond its raw transaction history. Wallet intelligence includes categorization (investor, team, treasury, market maker), risk profiling, behavioral pattern analysis, relationship mapping, and CRM context. The goal is turning a public address into an actionable profile.
Wallet Age
The time elapsed since a wallet's first recorded on-chain transaction. Wallet age is a risk signal because newly created wallets with large token positions and no transaction history are associated with higher sell risk — they lack the behavioral baseline of established wallets and may represent short-term speculation rather than long-term holding intent.
